The Definition of Insanity ... It's attributed (the definition) to both Einstein and Franklin The Definition of Insanity ...

Of course, insanity is a legal term. </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
DEFENSE, INSANITY - A criminal defense asserting that at the time of the commission of the acts constituting the offense, the defendant, as a result of a severe mental disease or defect, was unable to appreciate the nature and quality or the wrongfulness of his acts. Mental disease or defect does not otherwise constitute a defense. U.S.C. 18

A person is insane, and is not responsible for criminal conduct if, at the time of such conduct, as a result of a severe mental disease or defect, he was unable to appreciate the nature and quality or the wrongfulness of his acts. This is because willfull (sic) intent is an essential part of most offenses; and a person who is insane is not capable of forming such intent. Mental disease or defect does not otherwise constitute a defense; the person has the burden of proving the defense of insanity by clear and convincing evidence.

Makes one wonder how anyone can handle a mental health support website The Definition of Insanity ...

Insanity usually implies mental derangement.

Now lunacy suggests periodic spells of insanity. Just insane once in a while.

Dementia...is an acquired mental disorder...something else gives it to you??? Usually of organic origin.

Amentia... is a congenital mental deficiency. Perhaps mom and dad gave it to you...

Psychosis means all of the above and more...any definitions in which the personality is disorganized.

I asked my middle daughter once...So hon, do you think that there are any benefits to being insane...

To which she replied.."I don't think so Mom"

At this very moment in time...I see that she was wrong...

On the quest for lucidity...

LOLs…I am not sure if I keep doing things over and over—my memory is so bad I can’t remember how I’ve done something the first time. It might be all the meds I am on. Oh, well, that’s the price I pay for a bit of sanity.
