Wow, he's a lucky man to be here to talk about it. Thank goodness a cool head prevailed and he knew what to do.

It's always sad to see an animal suffer with rabies, maybe this was the most humane way for him to pass on and not spread the disease any further. Rabid bobcat update

WOW! Good thing he's had some experience! Like they said, it could have been a child that couldn't defend him/herself!

He really doesn't look all that worse for wear. Good for him!

It's my impression that bobcats are very shy of humans and almost never encountered. Too bad this one had rabies. That is probably the reason for the attack. I'd actually love to see one in the wild, but would keep my distance!

I guess the neighbor who helped the man who was bitten, also had to undergo rabies treatment because they were concerned he might've been in contact with the blood or saliva. Rabid bobcat update

what a story!....looks like a lovely area where you live...so glad no one got hurt but sad the bobcat died........
