Okay, so I have this very unusual problem. Every so often my eyes start seeing crosses everywhere. In random patterns, in the letter "t" and all sorts of other places. When I try to close my eyes, I see in crosses in my closed eyes. My eyelids will then forcibly open back up. It is impossible to go to sleep. Occasionally, I will also get cramps in my hands and feet. This usually lasts for a few hours and then it goes away. The really strange thing is, it doesn't happen unless I start to think about it. Then, boom, there it is. My psychiatrist put me on Artane for the hand/foot cramps but it seems to have little effect on the eyes constantly seeking out the pattern of the cross or my inability to close my eyes. I have raised this issue with my psychiatrist several times but he has never given me a definitive diagnosis of what it is. Has anyone here heard about this problem before or know what it is or how to treat it? Thanks!

Do u have a history of seizures or pseudo-seizures? I have conversion disorder w seizures and I sometimes experience what is called a partial onset seizure (generally includes symptoms of high blood pressure as a stroke would but not at stroke level high blood pressure). My vision will generally start to get all funhouse mirror like or everything I look at will seem to have a purple coat of paint on it (or red or yellow or blue). Sometimes its shapes or other phenomenon in my vision...other times a partial onset type seizure will present a my right or left arm going all tingly or present some other irritating symptom for 5 min to maybe as long as an hour,,,,there are a plethora of these kinds of things,,,you can find info about partial onset seizures on the Johns-Hopkins University Website under epileptic info...psuedo seizures are physically identical in appearance to epileptic ones so thats the best source to look for symptoms...u may not be having a seizure at all but its worth looking at if for no other reason than to rule it out....
