Moving to a Retirement Center

Bad

I have to give up all my worldly positions

Live in a place less than ¼ of where I’m living now

Daisy my dogt has no yard and lives is a small space

Good

All 3 meals will be make for me

I can live anywhere I want every 3 months

Better socialization

Information

Money will be made on the house I live in because of equity inflation

This is the best house I will ever live in my lifetime - Del Webb

If I had a roommate things might be better?

If I went to church, meet ladies and go to the community at least twice a day

Will my depression get better in a retirement community?

If not I just gave up the best house I will ever have and all my positions and will leave me with nothing

I don't know what to do because I'm suppose to sign the papers today to sell the house.

well I probably came along too late. If you didn't sign is there anyway to stay at the retirement community overnight? See how you feel after a day and then maybe decide.

My dad's BFF moved into one and he's having a blast and really likes it. He was really depressed but they have outings all the time and all types of activities he likes. I'v never seen him so perky.

Whatever you decide I wish you the best

My ex went to a retirement center and is happier, much. It is a retirement home for special needs, a medical community for people with MIs. And she is happier. That was a win win situation for her and i am glad. Now i am the one with the apt. and dealing with depression. I have found for me it is doing away with isolation and having more interaction with people that makes a difference. I wish you well. You will find that it might be a loss and grieving process at first but you will adjust to a new sense of family... tc and hugs
