i posted on a forum somehting i reworte..lyrics. it is about my past. and it was so hard to find the right words...
and now i was told that the old one was better.. i decided i would take that constructive advice under consideration when i write another song,. but when i sat near the paino and tried finally to start makijng a song of it i started feeling SO angry... so %#@&#! FRUSTRATED....i don`t know why that critisizm was important to me. it wasn`t harsh or anything. it was fine i am just so %#@&#! sick of rewriting this lyric and i want to WRITE MUSIC!!! i was waiting for this summer vacation JUST for that! i know it is hard work. i know life won`t become a paradise if i become a singer songwriter. but my desire to achieve my songs WON`T LET OF OF ME now i don`t have ideas for music they just got out of my head ![]() |

I am an artist and I find that the more pressure I put on myself to create "the masterpiece", the less creative I am. Art, in any form, is not about finding that "masterpiece", it's about expression. Having found those "right words" must have been very satisfying and liberating for you.
Maybe try take away all that pressure. Do what you do to de-stress and relax, then return to the piano with the intent of expressing and creating for yourself, not anyone else, and I think you will find that the words will just flow. I know you will find that freedom once again. Good luck and ENJOY . . . SBD

The same thing happens to me everytime I paint. I have an idea, I go to express it and it ends up as something different that other people like but is not what I envisioned. So I always end up with a picture but not the one I had in my mind...it is as if it is a poor replicate of what I had thought of. I think that the definition of the Master artist in any venue is the one who can actually produce the exact vision that he/she has. Weither or not it satisfies anyone else means nothing. I believe that creative expression is about satisfying yourself foremost and always.
Perhaps you like the original because it comes closest to what you envisioned...sometimes you just have to accept it as that and move on. Chances are pretty good that with some time, the vision will become clearer and the thoughts will metamorphisize(sp) Art in any form is just thought that takes up space. |

<font color="#000088">I agree with the others, your art is your own,and it takes your own vision to create it. No one else can do it for you. So it is frustrating when it doesn't seem to come out right for you.
But when you are under a lot of stress and pressure, and try to push yourself too hard, you can create a block in your artistic flow. Like "Writers Block"! So you've really got to let yourself just relax, and just put your fingers on the keys, and just let the music flow through you,and as you relax and enjoy playing, the words will just come to you! I play the piano as well, and I sing, plus I'm a writer in the art of poetry,so I can understand your frustration.I've been there! Just don't give up,it'll work out,and you'll find the words you're looking for. ![]() ![]() |

I am a painter/printmaker. For me being creative is a constant struggle—what gets in my way is stress—I worry about the piece too much—try to make it perfect. Sometimes, I do better if I just let go and free myself to get a little loose. Sometimes a minor “imperfection” turns into the focal point of the piece—its what makes it work.
My friend says art is the artist’s struggles with their personal limits—doing our absolute best to overcome our “problems” with the piece—we are constantly pushing our own boundaries. And then, we are putting ourselves out there for others to see—we let people see our struggles. That is a very scary thing to do—takes a lot of self confidence to put yourself out there.

Lady - so glad you decided to keep things as is and are able to work on your new piece. Portraits have always been my passion as I, as I have found out, I used it for self-expression - which I guess is what art is all about. I just didn't realize it. The work just flowed from my pencil.
DepressMe - I appreciate your passion toward your art. I also think it is true that we put ourselves out there, bare our sould for all to see. It is scary and risky and you have to believe in what you create.

People here at PC have been really helpful with my fear of “putting stuff out there.” I have been posting my art work in the photo section and I get good feedback. It is a really safe place to take the step of sharing my art with others.
I would be interested in seeing everybody else’s art… Ladymacbeth, I am sorry I missed your lyrics—I will try to go find them.
