Hi Everyone,

Lately I’ve found myself addicted to dreaming. I’m noticing how often I want to figure things out by going back to sleep. I’ve been having trouble waking up, sometimes sleeping for 12-13 hours, simply because I don’t want to stop dreaming. I’ve always been a vivid dreamer and have always respected the power of how our minds work during sleep. I have files of recorded dreams and I can confidently say that I’ve learned a lesson from each of them. The only problem is that I’m exhausted upon waking. Even though I get a lot out of my dreams, I feel like I’m working harder in my sleep than I do when I’m awake > (sometimes I have full on therapy sessions while sleeping!) Part of me knows that I’m afraid to deal with certain things in the “waking” world and that the excessive sleep is part of my depression acting out. But another part of me believes that this is just a weird way of how I do things.

So, kind of a weird question, but have any of you ever found yourself trying to solve your issues more through dreams rather than real life?

Anyone addicted to dreaming?... I seem to be.Sweet dreams. ~ Bee

Yup, I love to dream as well. Ive actually lucid dreamed quite a few times and its absolutely fantastic.

I also have intuitive dreams alot, where some symbol in my dream will match to something that happens later on. Its weird but cool at the same time.

I like dreaming and I like to sleep. Don't always know what they mean, don't spend too much time trying. Once had a dream that a part in my car brakes was bad, according to the repair guy, it was.

I know Beelieving is leaving the forum or has already left us, and I'm sad about that. This is a valid question, and one with which I identify. I have recurring problem-solving dreams that reflect unresolved issues, often in a surreal setting. I don't dwell on these dreams or fret about them, but accept that this is my brain attempting to work things out!

I use to dream a lot, and I really liked it, it was relaxing. I did have one nightmare that was a recurring one, it kept coming back, the same one in every detail. So I thought really hard about what it meant, and as soon as I figured out what it meant, it stopped and never came back. I think it was trying to teach me something. Now I don't have dreams at night anymore, just nightmares. Sometimes just nothingness.
But I believe that our dreams and our nightmares are just our subconcious mind talking to us, or reminding us of things we still need to deal with or work out in life. And sometimes warning us of things to come.

I agree, Justice. I've had one...an only one...dream which seemed to be predicting a disaster. I dreamed vividly of black sludge eminating from a water source and covering the landscape. A week later, there was a coal waste spill in KY where black sludge oozed out of a holding pond and ruined streams and people's land. I've never dreamed of black sludge before or since!
