I'm wondering why my NP in this case is trying to keep me on Welbutrin.
I went to an urgent facility, prescribed Welbutrin 150mg. Went back, dose upped to 300mg. Blood pressure was fine. Went to county facility to intake, NP told me I had high blood pressure. She took it manually. Still high. 190/100 (I wonder if the cuff was wrong and her manual measure was inaccurate). Told NP that the Welbutrin made me worse after 2 months of being on it. She said the dose was too high. Prescribed welbutrin 150mg. Went to new facility (needed ADHD evaluation and county facility referred me out). Blood pressure was good. Also went to Dr. for appt. before all of this, vitals were perfect. Prescribed Effexor 37.5mg and told to stop Welbutrin. Went back to county facility because appt. already on the books. NP said I had high blood pressure again and told she was overriding the other NP's prescription and put me back on the welbutrin 150. I told this NP that Welbutrin is making it worse and Effexor is working. Is this NP getting some sort of benefit for me being on this drug that isn't working for me? |
