HI! In my experience when a doc thinks you might have cancer they don't wait longer then a week to retest, usually they will get you in the next day. I also don't think nodules on a thyroid is that unusual. Go to webmd and look it up. It's a wonderfully informative website. Your sugar being high could simply have been due to what time of day they took your blood, what you had eaten last and how long it had been since you had eaten. Again if they were really concerned about it being diabetes they would have given you a test that is specifically designed for diabetes. They give you glucose and test your blood over a period of time to see what your sugar levels do. They're probably just doing a follow up to make sure it was a fluke. I have a high sugar reading when my blood is taken and I don't have diabetes. The doc said if I don't watch my diet I might develop it, but I don't have it now. I hope this helps to eleviate some of your concern. If you need more reassurance, and you don't feel better after researching it, call your doc and tell them your freaking out a little. If they're anything like my docs they'll say, "Oh God No! I was just double checking. There's nothing to worry about." Then I feel like an ***, but I'm not worried anymore. :-) Good luck and try to take some deep breaths. Remember docs act FAST when they suspect cancer. They don't tell you to come back in 6 months. This I know because I've had a couple of docs suspect Cancer and family members whose docs have suspected Cancer. They don't mess around. As a matter of fact, they react so quickly, it's a little scary. Take care!
