is when a person attempts to psycho-analyze me, regardless of the intention, it's just physically painful, and I mean that literally, coz I have a stress condition that ive had for years and it makes my muscles tense up when im under stress and it hurts.
I'm a slave to science, because that's where my heart has flourished, and because I owe my existence to it (when I was 6 years old, I had pneumonia and a 105 degree fever, modern medicine saved me) and, the biggest trigger of all, is when a person attempts to psycho-analyze me while being anti-science at the same freaking time. I either get myself away from the situation or I lash out, I can't count how many times I've told a person to go kill themselves out of anger or disgust. an example can be like when people worship the DSM like it's the end-all-be-all of Psychology, MY field, and here's a fun fact for you about the DSM, it listed homosexuality as MENTAL DISORDER. 1987 is the year they finally stopped listing it that way. and they only did it out of intense pressure. And transgenderism is still actually classified as a disorder "gender dysphoria" is what these twats call it. everything in that piece of **** is a social construction by the way, it's hardly what you'd consider scientific. Real research and scientific inquiry can only be done by someone who separates themselves from bigotry and non-reality (that includes every fairy tale religion out there) People on the internet have quoted the DSM to try to tell me I have a mental disorder, across the INTERNET???? Or to tell me I'm insane, or this, or that. People are scum. I hate people. I enjoy watching people die. oops, I'm getting myself worked up. __________________ I bear the curse of awareness, and the gift of misfortune. Last edited by FooZe; Aug 21, 2016 at 01:42 PM.. Can't you just tell them "don't try to psychoanalyze me"?

That does sound intrusive. How do these conversations crop up? Maybe you can avoid these topics. Something must be triggering the subject matter.
I'm not trying to psychoanalyze you btw, just here for support! |

Well, those pet peeves can be awful when we encounter them but if we engage them and stimulate them all the time, it's like self-torture, right? There are lots of articles and at least one book I've heard about the psychology of pet peeves. I've had pet peeves that I've grown out of and they were usually surrounding something I didn't want to face within myself. Just a thought.
The internet is amazing. It is this entity that has given access to knowledge about practically anything to practically anyone and everyone feels like an expert. It's frustrating to people who tend to explore things methodically and deeply when they encounter the endless sea of people who make haphazard assessments about whatever tickles their fancy. You are outnumbered. You will never make them stop. Again, give yourself a break and stick to conversations with people who share your views until the ones who DON'T share your views have less voltage when they present themselves to you. Maybe it's time to avoid the triggering topic with people on the internet because it is obviously stealing your peace. Give yourself a break. Last edited by LeeeLeee; Aug 24, 2016 at 09:17 AM.. |

Things like that bug me too. Like when they say my dreams mean this and that, I ask if they believe in astrology too and they get miffed because analyzing dreams is "real". Eh... no, it is not.
And as for people constantly referring to DSM, they act like God wrote it, not man. "You can't have this because DSM blah blah". It makes me so tired... |
