I don't know why or what has caused me to be in this state of mind but I just don't care about anything or anyone anymore. I haven't for about two years. I'm not suicidal or anything, I just feel apathetic about everything. Nothing can hold my interest. Because of my meds, I don't feel much of anything anymore but that's something I'm learning to live with because the alternative is not an alternative at all. I just wish I could find a way to climb out of this apathetic frame of mind I find myself in.

Are you able to schedule a few activities? I stress schedule as doing things as they come up or spontaneously just doesn't seem to work for me. My secret the last three months has been to schedule some sort of activity ahead of time. It gives me something to look forward too. I tend to feel a strong sense of commitment to completing the activity too. Spontenaity just seems so out of my grasp.

Hello Jistmedarkstar: Unfortunately, your med's may well be the cause of your apathy. Of course, if you need your med's, you need them. So perhaps the best thing you can do is to try not to beat yourself up for something you don't really have control over.

I don't know if you've considered this, but the other alternative might be E.C.T. I've never had it. It was suggested to me at one point. But I chose not to do it. I know some people are afraid of it. I was. But I've also read posts, here on PC, written by members for whom it was helpful. It might be something to consider as an alternative to continuing to live the way you are which is clearly troublesome to you.

Have you tried other med combos? Is there nothing left to try? I was like that for 6 months because I was on the wrong medicine. If this is your only option my heart bleeds for you. If you don't care about anything, there is nothing I can say which will make you care. No hobby can cure real all encompassing apathy. (((Hugs))

Can't you try some different meds? I'm not sure that how you're living now is much better than the alternative..

I am sorry to hear that things have left u feeling empty hollow inside. I am also going to agree with the suggestion you ask about changing your meds, if that's possible. All the best.
