A couple of weeks ago, I started getting spam email cards from "a family member" or "a friend." I knew they were phony because they are sent to an account that I used only for buying things.

I never open attachments unless I know who sent it and why.

Now I am getting these on a protected business account. Again, I know they are phony because family and friends would not be using this account.

Is anyone else being spammed with these?

Yes, I get several daily in many of my accounts. It is a shame since there are so many people who enjoy getting/sending e-cards from reputable businesses.

You are probably getting the ones in your business account through someone else's machine (a client's) that is being filtered through by the spammers without the person's knowledge; that's where most spam comes from and why it can't be caught. I have one account I think has been compromised in that way (and once they have the address, not anything one can do about it) so I turn off my machine when I'm not using it. Not good to leave on your machine 24/7 as stuff happens when you're not there that there's no trace for.

Yes, I received two last week.

I deleted them so I can't check what they said, but I do know it told me to click on a link that would take me to Hallmark and the other one was American Greeting. I didn't bite. Spam email cards: Anyone getting?

I am getting these daily. I just click them over to spam. They are annoying, but as long as I don;t open them I should be ok. The annoying thing is when they have my screen name in the subject line. It seems more personal then. I am sure they just send them random to made up screen name variations, but it is scary.

Hello everone involved in the Email Scam. I am also receiving the cards. Please be careful and be wise in how you handle this problem. I am getting the cards in my tutoring account so if you are getting the cards it is usually it seems in a business or other related Email. Take care everyone. Soidhonia
