As I was going out to my car today, a small boy, probably no older than age 10, was walking up the hot (104 degree) street barefooted. Redheaded, so cute, and he actually called out to me about how hot it was. I don't know why, but I was so touched! I conversed with him for a minute or so about the weather, and he went on his way, and I went on to my car. He looked rather poor, and I do live near a lot of low-income housing. I am a teacher, and this little boy affected me...I don't know why...He was so sweet! I hope I see him again, though I doubt I will. I want to know who he is. Does this make any sense?

I hope I do see him again, Mellors, but I doubt it. He was so sweet, , a kind of Huckleberry Finn boy. My heart goes out...!

I love it when someone comes into our lives for just a moment, makes us smile and our heart sing. I'm sure, you did exactly the same for him in your short but friendly and touching moment shared.

People come into our lives like that are interesting....not knowing who or where they come from, it is fascinating how we project thoughts as to who or what they are or what their lives are like.

Who knows, it might have been the son of a millionaire that wanted to just be a normal kid for once in their life....lol. We have a billionaire that owns 7000 acres of farm part is across the street from my farm. They say that when he is staying at his farm from Cincinnati where he lives the rest of the time, he comes into the DQ in his overalls.....no one would recognize him from any of the other farmers around. What is the saying....you can't judge a book by it's cover......but that doesn't mean you can't imagine stories about it.

The Huck Finn look is definitely a gotcha.....leaves one thinking about the persons life. I find it fun in Kentucky to run into the children.....they are so cute....& what even adds more to that is the real thick Kentucky accent they have.

Hope you do see him again.....maybe you will find out more about him in the future. People are fascinating.

Thanks, Sabau, Eskie, and Justice...
I think one of the reasons I was so impressed by this little fella was that he called out to me without prompting, and did so with such sweetness. Most kids these days don't do that...
I like what Petunia said...he's an angel!

You and I are so alike. We are both suckers for children and that's a very good thing.

I hope you see your young friend again.

Hugs,

Jan

Jan...Thanks for the response...
Yes, I'm a bit of a sucker for young ones, and being a teacher is part of it, I guess.
I rarely see children outside my house and doubt I'll see him again. He was a sweet little fella though!
School starts next week, as well as two grad classes to finish my MA pursuit...It will be exhausting, and this quiet month I've had will be all over.
Still, I'm glad I met the little fella! And I do hope I see him again!
Love

I hope you see him, too. I really do understand.
