Do these really serve a purpose? I have been to several over the last 18 mths and presently the one I go to doesn't do anything for me. I'm really not concerned or thrilled about getting feedback from other patients.

Not as far as I can tell. It's the same stuff over and over again, and has had no effect on me either.

feed back from other patients? sounds beneficial and in some cases useful. But not everyone is so disassociated from reality that they would not recognize the blazing obvious in their own mirror.
for some they do need to get one person who has a clear declaration into the issues of another patient.
for my part, seldom do those with mental health issues have a clear view of their own issues or others either.
But it does, at times open one up to criticism and insight of others.

I've never been to one. What's it like? Is it only for people diagnosed with something in the psychotic disorder spectrum?

I found it help when I went but can see that more than once might be redundant.

It's mainly group therapy in individualized groups. It can be helpful to most psychiatric
issues, especially depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc. They also have them set up for addiction therapy. Groups are lead by a therapist and feedback is given by patients as well.

I participated in a partial hospital program quite a few years ago now, when I was first out of the hospital. I don't know as the program itself was anything to crow about. But what it did do for me was to give me a place to go, & something to be involved in, at a time when I was really just adrift.
