My right leg is shaking like no tomorrow. So much so it actually is beginning to ache terribly. I took a Cogentin tablet to help relieve the shaking. I don't normally use Cogentin, mostly because of the spaced out and tired feeling I get when using it. It just leaves me feeling disconnected with reality a little bit. However, now I feel it's a must. That and I have enough of the stuff to last for months (the pharmacy is giving me more than I use so it is piling up).

Anyways, I just wanted to write and complain about it. Better than keeping the complaints all bottled up inside, I feel. It's probably akathisia.

Report this to your psychiatrist. It could be a longterm reaction to medication. Lithium is such an example.

Yeah, I'm due to go see my Pdoc, so I'll mention my shaking leg there. I took some of my Benzatropine, otherwise known as Cogentin, and it seemed to stop the shaking. However, that med seems to have made my eyes sensitive to light or something. It's a side effect of the med I guess. I also feel spacey and can't seem to focus very well, along with mellowed out feeling.

I only took two doses, spaced about 8 hours apart. I can't help but feel this is what having a drug induced "high" is like. I'm all like, whoa....there's a hand at the end of my arm. It has five fingers!! And they are moving around like I have a rainbow aura around me (the rainbow aura is actually a manifestation of staring at a bright computer screen for a few minutes, and then looking at my arm).

Either way, I'm not taking anymore Cogentin for a while. I don't like this loopy disconnected feeling. Sure, it's a bit better than a shaky leg, I guess. I can actually get some sleep now.

Oh me, oh my, I'm rambling on. I shall end this post here.

I have bad tremors from medication. I take Cogentin occasionally, but it sure has weird side-effects.

As an alternative, you could try 'ultrasound gun',under name of
'ultralieve' from Amazon or elsewhere,it has anti-spasmodic
effect,and of course,is non-addictive with no side-effects.

I forgot to add...

How are your blood sugars? Is this happening on an empty stomach? My own tremmors are at their worst in the morning before I've had breakfast or when I haven't bothered to eat.
