It's been 2 months today since I last was in the hospital. In the past when I've had symptoms I think with the environments I've lived in (extremely controlling, people yelling at me all the time) I just havent been able to cope because I didn't feel safe.

I've been having symptoms now. I think the difference is that I'm in a safe place, I have my privacy and space so as long as I have those things I believe I will be able to deal without it getting to the point where I need to go to the hospital. It was virtually impossible to use my coping skills in my previous living situations.

I know 2 months isn't that long at all, but I've been hospitalized 26 times in the past 8 years and I would really like to be done with it.

it took me years to realize about looking out for symptoms. i didn't know there was such a thing. i've learnes through day treatment what they are for me and i feel better knowing they are just symtoms of my schitzophrenia and bipolar, then i see my doc and she'll adjust my meds. I have landed myself in the hospital a few times because i wasn't listening to my symptoms and things would get worse. good luck
