Thousands of volunteer members of the AF Auxiliary are looking for Steve Fossett. The CAP performs 95% of all Air Force land search and rescue missions here in the USA.

Not yet. They have pretty much cancelled the "rescue" aspect of the SAR though, saying that they doubt he (or anyone) could survive in the terrain etc for this long without survival equipment.
But the CAP searches for more than just downed aircraft. Any time you hear of someone missing in your County, call the Sheriff's office and have them contact the Air Force Auxiliary. The searches are done without cost to the public, authorities, etc.

am sure they did there best sky, not doubting that at all, but a man like that just don’t disappear without reason, I don’t think he is lost, I think he don’t want to be found.
