spent the most of the last two nights comforting son been giving him painkillers and clove oil but the pain has been getting him down and causing sleepless nights, if you cant remeber what sons problem is he has extra teeth that want to come through but no room,
so technally he is teething, but he is now 16 and adhd and this is really getting him down,
today when time is a bit more social i am going to ring the emergancy dentist to see if they can prescribe him something for the pain

again the only advice they could give me was carry on what im doing and contact his own dentist tomorrow , to arrange that they see if they can remove the offending tooth but this will be done via a hospital

ick, sorry the professionals seemed less than helpful sons tooth/gum problem again (they often seem that way to me, not even wanting to look at a physical issue that is hurting me more and more, sorry off topic)

I hope for healing for your son (((((((((((((( kathy and son ))))))))))))

I would insist that they remove the tooth, and from personal experience I think 2 teeth should be removed, one on each side, to give room for the new teeth to grow properly. I hope this isn't unhelpful but it sounds to me like they should have addressed this properly before and not fobbed off with "painkillers" sigh...... sons tooth/gum problem again

sons tooth/gum problem again sons tooth/gum problem again

the offending area it looks like its needs to be pulled as the tooth has allready had a deep filling there is allso a hole in the side, he has to see a paticular dentist to have this work done first appointment available is 20th of sep, if pain chages to a diferant pain to go back sooner because he might need antibotics

OOoooooh HOW I understand your son's pain. Just last night, I had the WORST pain of my life with a tootheache. About a year ago, I had to have a wisdom tooth and the molar next to it removed because of the pain (they were rotting) and now its happening on my left side. It was almost unbearable last night. I finally figured out somehow that getting my head below my heart helped the pain. I ended up fall asleep with my left cheek on a heating pad flat on my stomach, no pillow. I have no dental insurance now so I can't do anything about it.

You said something about clove oil?? My interested is peaked, I'm terrified of that pain coming back!

Cheese after meals has worked wonders for me, and rinsing my teeth after meals if I can, I've had no fillings since I started that regime, although lately I've neglected cleaning my teeth due to feeling of not being "worth" self care...

Grandma got me Orajel medicated toothache swabs and Head-On (that annoying commercial). I'm using the Head-On on my cheek where the pain is and its making a difference. I haven't used the mouth swabs yet; waiting until/if the pain gets worse.
