Job interview tomorrow = EEK!!

I'm feeling like just going to an interview is a success for me, (after the year long agoraphobia, etc.,), and I'm hoping that I will get the position, (part-time hearing officer), but I know that, if I don't, it wasn't meant to be and that, eventually, something else will be in the cards for me.

You are right! I think you already succeded. Getting to the interview is your success story. Getting the job at this point is not the success but surviving the interview.

Take it as a warm up for other interviews, in fact, why don't you try to set up another one? If you get the job from the interview you already had great! If not, you'll already have another one lined up ...

Well, alas, I didn't get the position, but I did go to the interview and I felt like I did well.

The 2 people that had already had the contract in prior years were applying, plus another guy that had been a hearing officer type for 30 years, so I wasn't really surprised that they were selected.

I didn't have a negative experience at all, though, so I feel good about going, nonetheless, and, again, you guys's support and friendship really helped.

That's the most important part peanut... that's great news. We don't have control over many things (like who gets selected for a job) but we do have a choice over how we react to those things. I'd mark this down as a victory, and you'll be all the better next time, less nervous, you know you can do it.

I think that is a tough enough attitude to achieve for anyone applying for a job... for someone who suffers from depression that is a great accomplishment.
