the pendulum has swung – and needed to – from the unfettered power of doctors and hospitals to do as they may to the right of patients to say no to treatment unless a court mandates such an intervention. But has it swung too far? What is abundantly clear is that just about no one is satisfied, on either side of the “battleground”, with the way things are. But where might the point of equipoise exist?

Yes, it has swung too far and is in danger of swinging back too far on the lock em up side again. It would be nice if there wasn't this knee jerk reaction to things, but instead a calm rational approach to problems like this. It's like health care in general, yes there are things wrong with ACA but repealing it isn't the answer, instead they should be working together to fix it for everyone.
