Dang, this year they're ("They" :-) starting something new. They'll really mess up the genealogists and astrologers now! I was born at 5:58 P.M. EST but now I'll be EDT. Someone tell all my biographers! LOL.

We've been doing it in October instead of November. Still too dark too early already :-) and doesn't get light in the mornings early enough to suit me either.

LOL Sure complicates things, doesn't it?

Why can't they just leave time alone? I hate it when it gets dark around 4 pm!! Doesn't it seem like it makes Winter feel longer to you? Does me! Daylight Savings

Used to, the seasons didn't affect me much but seems the older I get the less I like Winter to roll around. Daylight Savings Go figure! I live in coastal CA.

My birth certificate is already messed up! I was born in Alexandria, Virginia and Virginia in 1950 only issued Birth registration forms and that got me through life until 9/11 but then in September 2005 I needed a new passport to go to Switzerland. State Department would only accept a birth certificate so I went online (in Maryland, remember) and had Richmond send me a birth certificate and expedite it. Both my parents were born in Tacoma, Washington, as was my older brother and, sure enough, I get the birth certificate and the well-educated Virginia clerks decided that State=Washington must mean the same as State=District of Columbia!!!! They didn't even type in Washington, D.C., just "District of Columbia." It was too late to get it corrected for passport purposes but I had to search my soul to see if I cared (I have no children of my own) if my great great great great great niece or whomever got the wrong information when doing her genealogy :-) I know where my parents were born and Washington State knows where my parents were born :-) and if you search for their names, Washington State comes up so I just hope the genealogy databases in 100 years are at least as good as now.

Wouldn't that be funny though if I weren't let back in the United States or something because there was a discrepancy about where my parents were born :-) "I'm sorry, we don't accept the District of Columbia as a United States territory; they're not allowed to vote you know. . ."

It sounds funny now, but if it really happened, I'll bet you wouldn't be laughing! LOL

Things such as these, the way we manipulate time, reminds me that it is just a human construct, which I tend to forget easily. This sort of thing always throws me off balance. It is odd trying to think of time without numerical units attached, because there really isn't any.

I enjoy fall and winter, and enjoy shorter days. Although I suppose it doesn't make a difference what time it is, as it will get darker earlier all the same.
