I have this desire to do risky things, like riding bikes on natural terrain, for the thrill of it. Or perhaps travelling all by myself to foreign land.

But then comes the question - how?
It requires money, planning, and due to low social skills it will not be optimal.

How can I do something out of the ordinary everyday?
Social anxiety is also a thing, and I'm just trapped

I kind of know where you're coming from. Like doing something for the thrill of it or being tired of holding back. There are bound to be a few things like that that you can do without putting too much at risk but, be careful what you do because sometimes when you do something risky you can get hurt in both the physical sense or the emotional sense and that is never any fun. Just be careful is all I'm saying but, don't be afraid to try.

Um how is your mood level? I ask because for some of us, the desire to take risks is a sure fire indication of a swing into mania. I did some pretty wild, crazy, extreme, and dangerous things. I had the money at the time to fuel the behaviour though.

It's hard for me to rate my mood, but I am generally depressed because I am displeased with myself and my outcomes, yet I want to take control of my life on my own to see my potential

I can relate to this completely. I don't want to do things that are risky in the sense that they are unhealthy. I want to feel like I am living a fulfilling life by doing things like you said, such as traveling or getting into a physical/active hobby like rock climbing, etc. Funny thing is that to a more adventerous person, neither of those things mentioned are risky. But for me, being a social recluse with limited funds who never does anything exciting, it feels downright overwhelming. I want my life to change in a significant way and big changes always feel a little risky.

Wanting to make positive change is admirable. I say though that you monitor you mood and give your pdoc or therapist a headsup about any changes.

Build up to it. Do something different or differently every day. Start with smaller things, they will eventually become bigger things.

Like, start saying yes to some of our suggestions! You always say no, then ask for more advice. Youre not the only one, of course. And of course ive done this myself.

My parents did not teach me that little things add up to big accomplishments. I did the work day by day, then they stood there at the end and knocked it all down. So now i need to learn this all over again, and trust that i can KEEP my accomplishments.

That's a part of the reason I'm moving out - so I can grow without anyone breaking it all apart

And another thing - I don't have to say yes or no. If you have a problem with that then you don't have to talk to me.
