Hey everyone! First of all, im from denmark, so if my english is a little off, thats why

first a little bit about me: 25 year old female, struggling with OCD/intrusive thoughts and images of self harm and about harming others, and with them daily check-ups with different parts of my body (did i harm myself? do i bleed somewhere?)

In the recent years i have been in recovery at different psychiatric establishment, both alone with doctors and in groups. And i discovered a thing in the groups: most of us had this lack of language/words for these feelings linked to our body. this doctor approached me; he was doing this study about "Anomalies of Imagination and Disordered Self in Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders" and he wanted to interview me about it. i said yes, of course.

and in between the answers and questions it hit me: I have these bodily sensations that are extremely linked to visualisations that results in feelings/states that i cant describe. this was the first example i was aware of: if the area between my armpit and my underarm is warm, i feel bigger, like, physically bigger and the feeling linked to that is disqust or.. maybe not that, but somthing in that spectrum. another one, and a more strange one is my upper back, if that has this certain kind of .. pinching feeling, i see myself taking that part of my body of my body and holding it in my hands. some kind of imagery release/healing.

SO my question for you guys is: do you have similar experienses?? Or is it just me?

Hope it makes somekind of sense.

all my best from snowy denmark.

Hi eiman.

Although I don't experience those sensations, I certainly know what you mean. This could well be some form of body dysmorphia or cognitive aberration, something you may need to discuss with your doctor if it is causing you distress.
