If you haven't looked at your records, get a copy, including the visit notes. You may be shocked at how they may try to paint you as mentally unstable, a drug seeker, or minimize your complaints to make it look like you didn't see them for something serious.

It is a felony for medical workers falsify medical records.

Here are some examples from Youtube (people complained about the VA in these videos but it's similar anywhere else):

Doctors made a mistake and tried to say her mother was mentally unstable to cover it up
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5eab6Ox6h0

This guy is filing a federal lawsuit because of it. He mentions a note where they accused him of asking for more opioids (they often try to paint people as drug seekers)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6LRbDgFfck

Please review your medical records-especially the provider notes. I recently read mine and am shocked at the degree of reality distortions. For hypothetical example, if you go see your doctor for chest pain, they will say you reported you "had a stressful day" to make it look like there was no evidence of something being seriously wrong with you. It goes on and on. Pages of them.

Here are some ways to file complaints, including the links to the online complaint portals.

1. U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (DHS)

Discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, or religion by entities receiving federal financial assistance from DHS; violation of rights under the federal health care provider conscience protection statutes; or violation of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HIPAA Security Rule, or the confidentiality provisions of the Patient Safety Rule. File a civil rights complaint with the U.S. DHS, Office for Civil Rights, electronically through the Office for Civil Rights Complaint Portal.

2. The Joint Commission (TJC)

A health care organization or program that TJC accredits or certifies, including hospitals, doctor’s offices, nursing homes, office-based surgery centers, behavioral health treatment facilities, and providers of home care services. Report a patient safety event or concern about a health care organization.

https://www.jointcommission.org/report_a_complaint.aspx

3. State Dept. and/or Attorney General’s Office (each state has its own; this is the state of WA*)

A health professional regulated by the Washington State Department of Health, such as: a doctor, doctor’s assistant, nurse, nurse’s assistant, pharmacist, psychologist, mental health counselor, occupational therapist, or a facility or agency licensed by the Department of Health, such as: hospitals, surgery centers, home health or hospice agencies, clinics, labs, psychiatric facilities and state schools for hearing and visually impaired. Where is the Complaint Filed? Washington State Department of Health, Health Systems Quality Assurance Division.

**Google healthcare complaint and the name of your state to find out how to report. You may be able to file both a licensing complaint with your state regulator and a civil rights complaint with your state's attorney general's office. The links above are only an example (WA State).

This isn't for honest mistakes, this is for lying. The more who file complaints, the more it will deter them from lying. Hold them accountable.

Here's a thread from someone who just posted about this issue, which made me think to post this here.

Again, it's a felony offense for medical workers to falsify medical records. Report them.

My ex-T just has hand scribbled notes from each session. He would have a heart attack if I asked for all those notes. I think they only make sense to him.

This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.

I love you Rayne!!!!

Good to see you posting about this!!!! You're a godsend! Let's spread the word! Get it out there so that people won't have to go through this crap!!! I have personally experienced this - it DOES happen!

I am going to link my thread to yours and vice versa so we can spread the word! Hoping this stuff warns people enough to keep them from being harmed.

This thread talks about similar themes:
