Just wanted to say hi!

Editing to put in a little about myself...

I got this website from my psychology teacher. I am a student - majoring in psychology. I hope to get my Bachelor's degree and go on to graduate school to be a clinical psychologist. I want to help people with problems like I have/have had. I am currently jobless, but am waiting to get a state job at a children's facility. I would be working with children ages 3-5 that have mental and behavioral disorders.
I hope to be able to come in here often!

Welcome. There are a few of us here with similar plans (psych majors wanting to help others to overcome problems that we have first-hand experience with). It's nice to meet another who wants to do that too. I'm done with my B.A. in psych, and trying to get into graduate school, after having given up on that for 12 years because I thought they wouldn't take me due to being less than stable myself.

That sounds like a cool job you are trying to get! I'm starting my job search too, as soon as we get relocated (currently in the process of moving), and I hope I can find something that is relevant to this field.

Good luck to you! New here...

Thank you for all the welcomes!! My problems? Well, the main problem I have is specific anxiety disorder. I had major depression as a teenager, but I got out of it. I just have a mild case of depression now that I'm learning to control.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi cj

Welcome to the forums! Having gone back to college when I was 38, I can tell you that it's just like having a full-time job. We have a few people here pursuing their degrees in psychology, hopefully you can hook up with them for a talk. I hope you find all the support and information that you're looking for. I look forward to getting to know you better!

Take Care,
Greg
