before I start it is NO one here, this is IRL person
am so sick of freeloading parisits, hubby and I go all out for the folks at our support/workshop , every holiday we do something special, well this year we asked for a little alone time for Christmas day, now one of our members is acting like a s@%#&*@d, she picked a name for the secret Santa for Christmas eve and just told me she won't be here cuz she was invited to a BETTER party, isn't getting the gift for the name she picked and said we should serve TV dinners,
I AM SOOOOOO PISSED OFF
Need hugs and advice, I really want to tell her where to go

Some people take "rejection" personally. I guess this person isn't in a place to see it from someone elses perspective and allowing her to upset you is a bit like shouting at a deaf dog for not coming when called. Just explain to her you feel hurt by her actions but you are entitled to your time and let it go.

Share/vent with other like-minded members? I'd do a "public" announcement that so-and-so has a better party to go to (said with heavy sarcasm) and needs someone to help her with her obligations by taking over the secret Santa gift buying for Christmas Eve and ask for volunteers to do that and any other things she was supposed to. I wouldn't ostracize her outright but I'd sure make it warm in there for her when she "comes back".

Hey lady! It happens to everyone, all parties. Don't take it personally, it's obviously as deficit of her own. She should have bought a gift anyway and left it with you, imo. It's ok that she changed her mind I guess...but she did make a commitment eh?

Now let it go. This is nothing about you and how well you do things. OK? Rant, Vent, Whatever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand where you are coming from. I think this is one of those "it is all about me" situations. Real sad when someone can not consider your feelings or what you want. I am glad you are not giving in. Enjoy your Holiday. Rant, Vent, Whatever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
