Go to your employer and see if you can get an advance from them; I did that once when I was in my 20's. They can take it out of your pay gradually, over a couple months. Or, I'd approach 15 friends and relatives (especially b/f's friends and relatives :-) coworkers, almost anyone you know for $20 each. If you hang out at a club or anything, get your boyfriend to "collect" there or if you know the owner, etc.

Did you approach your landlord and ask could you have an extention or anything?

You may also be able to get some short term financial help from your county "Jobs and Family Services" program. They also should be able to help you or bf with some job training so it will be easier for him to find a job if he so desires. (I don't know the circumstances of his unemployment)

If they cannot help you directly, they can usually point you in the right direction.

Good Luck

Most towns have a crisis control ministries that work with salvation army peeps >>> but you have to usually have court documents to prove an eviction as been started,,,,

. Now The legal system is a slow down thing ,,,, Here's 1 thing you can do >>>>> Check state landlord tenent rights.

. Usually You go to magistrates court and if found in arears,,,, which if not paid by that date will be true,,,,

You when found guilty and given 3 or 10 days to vacate premises You Tell Magistrate / Judge you appeal.

Now when you do that you have to pay the rent to clerks of courts office as a bond .

Avoiding all that and if your landlord and you have a good relationship ( landlords don't like vacant properties ) You might work out a catch up plan ..

This is just a brief outline as to the workings of evictions ,,,, it gives you some catch up time and another alternative .

Sometimes the city or town you live in can assist people in paying their rent also. You may have to jump through some hoops but it's well worth it in the long run. There are also churches that are there for help too. It doesn't matter if you are a member or not...they help anyone in need. You can also try calling your local Community Action program. If they cannot help you, they can point you in the right direction.

Wishing you luck skittles...I know how stressful this can be. In the meantime, it might be good to let your landlord know you are a bit short but working on getting the $300. If you have some of the rent....I would give him what you have. There are tenant laws that will help you so that you are not evicted while you are working on solving this problem.

If either of you have a credit card with "checks" put them on one of those (or open a new credit card account and pay the rent for this month using it/a check from it) and use the difference in cash you have to start a fund for emergencies.

I'm not sure you'd qualify for state help or what, as they might tell you your bf is NOT their problem. Usually if you are just living together, they don't consider that a coupling.
If you go to or belong to a church, perhaps they might help you from their funds?
Why doesn't your bf have a job? If he can walk, he can ride!!! Alot of us have had to work two jobs in the early times so feeling sorry for live-ins isn't on my agenda. I had to do it...........why CAN'T he?????
Anyway, you can try under your own name and maybe the county can help YOU.

Good luck!!

cant pay rent Don't you hate it when this happens? Can your bf go seek assistance? He has time to, I'm sure...and perhaps might be able to apply for things you've already received before (but can't again?)

Sorry to hear of your financial trouble! The Salvation Army and Good will helped a friend of mine years ago when her husband was injured and unable to work. You might try there. Hope you’re able to sort it out.

I don't think any DHHR assistance would help because you have to apply and go through the applying process. Plus, your housing may not even qualify. We pretty much never pay rent on time here where I live. I live in an apartment complex that can be HUD paid or rent paid. We're one of the very few families that pay rent here. I've never once paid rent on time...ever. We pay every month but always late. I haven't yet received any type of threat or eviction from the complex manager yet. I think if you work with our landlord and explain the situation they may give you a little time before they take any action. But I recommend getting it paid somehow fairly quickly so you don't end up 2 months behind. Hope things look up soon.

Skittles, you can't be legally evicted without the landlord going through the process and paperwork.

In the meantime, would your bf consider doing day jobs through the temp agencies that specialize in day jobs? Every bit will help and he could even do 2 shifts for this emergency the 2 of you are having.

Salvation Army, churches, Neighbors in Need, Good Neighbors, your county's Jobs and Family Services are all places to contact; if they can't help you directly they may be able to refer you to another agency who can.

Also, the clinic where you go for therapy might be able to tell you where you could find help.

(((( Skittles )))) Good luck to you and your bf.

Take into consideration " this couple she's referring to are
MARRIED" !!!! You are just living together. That doesn't qualify you and the bf as an item. They might only help you out, but your bf can certainly WORK.
