I've heard of this before. Doesn't suprise me. People are so complex, there's a billion and one ways things can go wrong.

I used to know someone who had it. She had a stroke and lost the body map of her legs in her brain. So her legs felt like something disgusting, like corpse parts sewn onto her.

I read a book about a guy who cut off his own hand. He had paranoid schizophrenia though. I think he was trying to please some make believe god or something. Read the book in 2013 I think.
