I haven't always been like this, but in the past year I've completely pulled away from any form of social media. I shut down my Facebook and Instagram. I'm also very picky about news apps and the like. I don't know... It's just so commonplace that people have some form of social media. But, I got to a point where it felt considerably overwhelming to me. Too much information about too many things. It's been almost a year since I've deleted my accounts, and I haven't missed it at all.

I take social media and internet breaks at least once a month. Sometimes you wont see me post here for like a week then I come back or my facebook notifications pile up. Nothing bad has happened to make me want to take a break I just think its healthy.

I have pulled back from social media also. I closed everything down except Facebook and I limit my time and what I follow on Facebook. I feel much, much better.

I initially had to shut down my social media accounts because of safety reasons. Long story short, I got out of an abusive relationship and had to just disappear for a while. But, even though I had no other choice (and was even a bit angry about it), I started to feel better about life in general. I don't think I even realized the impact that constantly scrolling through all of that unnecessary information had on my frame of mind. Breaking away from it has given me the opportunity to truly focus on myself and my role in the world. And I should clarify that cutting out social media wasn't the only thing that helped. But, I am able to think more clearly without so much rolling around in my noggin. 😁

I never post anything on Facebook, but I do read most of what my friends and relatives post.
