Interesting. I've been scratched many times over the years. But I really doubt that caused me to be bipolar, which only showed up when I took an antidepressant for the first time, when I was in my forties!

Out of curiosity I googled cat scratch fever and found that it’s rare and usually mild and that most people who catch it are immunocommprosised
I think that unaluna is on to something better hide those kitty videos __________________ Nammu …Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. …... Desiderata Max Ehrmann |

I've been scratched and bit and dealt with cat poop a million times in my life, it never made me mentally ill. In fact, I've probably done more damage to my cat's mental health than she's done to mine. She makes me so, so happy even when we drive each other crazy. There is something called "cat scratch fever" and if that's a real thing you get from cats supposedly it does make you sick.

OK, wow, so it's the cats fault not the parents! 😅🙏
Imagine that, going to the psychologist with your depression and your suicidal thoughts and the therapist says 'Make yourself comfortable on the couch please, go back deep into your childhood - now, tell me about your cats. What did they do?' 🤣 __________________ "A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it."- Dōgen

The only illness I am familiar with in regards to cats is toxoplasmosis....that comes from handling their feces. I have had cats all of my life, and have never gotten ill.
