I hope this is the right forum to post this in. I have been dealing w/ multiple health, chronic pain and mobility issues for years. Last month, I was in hospital for just under two weeks due to shortness of breath. At first they thought I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs), but that was ruled out after testing. A doctor on my team looked through my old records and here, they can see everything from both of the two hospitals in the city. She looked at my last echocardiogram from three years ago and saw evidence of pulmonary hypertension, which nobody told me about at the time. I have to have another echo but do not have a date yet. I saw my GP yesterday and she said it's pretty certain, though.

I am in a really dark place right now. I think it's been happening for a while, but is just so much worse now. I can't get enthused about anything or do anything. Due to forum rules, I can't say much else. My dr has referred me to some program (which I don't want) but it will take six months to see anyone.

I do not have any family left and all my close friends are deceased, too. I don't get close to anyone anymore, it is not worth it.

Sorry to hear you just found out that you have high blood pressure that is affecting your arteries aka pulmonary hypertension. I have it too.

treatment for me is high blood pressure / high cholesterol medication that I take once a day. a low salt diet and doing programs and activities to reduce stress. example first I had to go to a class to teach me what this problem was and how to take of it, then follow through with a strict routine of diet and exercise and taking my medication.

heres the thing on this problem its controllable and in most people with high blood pressure that affects their heart and arteries the treatment can reverse the damage done. during my orientation of what this problem is and how to care for my having it I learned high blood pressure/ high cholesterol / stress is statistically 1 in every 4 people in america have this.

my suggestion give their referal for treatments of your problems a try. go to the program and theres nothing saying you can't leave the program i after you try it, it doesnt work for you.
