How you doin, everybody? Hello.

Can dog sense something dark in me? Currently I have two female dogs, both get super easily scared of me - literally going bathroom all over themselves after one look in silence. Back in a day I had male dog and I could play with him and, say I accidentally stumbled, and then he would be shaking and running away.

I never hit any of them. No abuse. I actually play with them pretty often and they seem to like me, but they... tread lightly all the time.

I'm a big guy. I'm 6.2, 238 pounds.

How long have you had these dogs?

Were they previously abused? Did they have previous owners?

The male dog was with us for nearly 10 years, no abuse, no previous owners. The female shepherd 3 years and she was kicked out of someone's house. We got her from a shelter. The female small one is a newborn, 8 months with us, no abuse, no previous owners.

If you can afford/find a good, reputable dog behaviourist, I think someone like that would probably be able to help you. There’s a chance there’s something about the way you come across to dogs that they don’t like (including being as tall as you are - you’d tend to tower over them and they may feel threatened by that? If it is that, there may still be things you can do to help them feel safer, but I’m not an expert) but I’m only going on what you’ve written and speculating a possible reason. Someone with the relevant skills would have to observe you, behaving as you normally would around your dogs, to really know what was going on here.

It might be your size and that you're male. I've noticed dogs tend to be more scared of males than females.

So Sorry this is happening! Please do not give up! i agree with the other wise and wonderful posters about contacting a dog behaviourist if possible. i am not sure if that has something to do with your own size but it may be depending on how long this has been going on. Hopefully things will improve soon. Hugs. Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @BigBubba, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!
