I mean like can you get dependent on objects. I don’t sleep well without my weighted blankets and I have some oral sensory things too that I often need to have to cope. My therapist says they are great as long as I don’t become dependent on them. But how does someone get like that with objects?

Oh yes. I seem to be dependent on journaling instead of exploring what is out there in the world, almost like it's special function is inhibiting it all since I am so afraid of going out there and doing things. Also, my immediate thought was religion. Let's not concentrate on that though. I think I'm also dependent on smoking cigarettes. It's bad.

Yes, little kids often have blankies or stuffed animals for comfort. I used to suck my thumb a lot until I was 5.
