I love my psychiatrist, he's so good. He actually listens to me, particularly on the meds front, and if I tell him I'm getting worse, he takes it seriously.

I had my monthly appointment with him today - I normally meet with him monthly, although it's all virtual now. I told him I was heading into a depressive episode and was starting to have su idealization. He was all over it, and asked if having more frequent meetings with him would help. I said yes, so he told me to call his secretary and book weekly appointments for the next 6 weeks.

I feel so lucky that he's willing to make time for me.

Wow, that's great! I've never had weekly appointments with a psychiatrist. Once a month is usually the most the will do.

When I got serious about quitting drinking, I was adamant that I didn't want to go to a 30 day lockdown because I can't tolerate being locked up for that long.

So we worked out a plan. He put me on a med that took away cravings. Then I had to see him twice a week for a month, then once a week for 3 months until we went back to 90 day appts.

It's beeń five years and I don't think about it anymore.
