I am really struggling with taking my meds an hour later. Like my body has an internal clock and it’s still saying it’s an hour later then it actually is. I am really having a hard time waiting 15 minutes and I’m trying to distract myself and it’s tough.
Also I’m doing intermittent fasting. I started it less then 2 weeks ago and I’m struggling with that as well. Yesterday I ate breakfast at 5AM and I finished eating at 2:30. I ate breakfast this morning at 4AM and I’m trying to get back on track today with everything but it’s tough. My fasting is usually 6:30AM-3:30PM. There was literally no problem with anything until Sunday at 2:30. My mom just doesn’t get it. __________________ Ridin' with Biden Last edited by FooZe; Nov 09, 2021 at 12:44 AM.. Im confused. Usually people fast during the night, while they are sleeping? Did you mean 6:30 pm to 3 am is when you fast? Or that your eating is usually 630 am to 3pm? What is your sleep schedule? I would start with sleep, then coordinate my eating to that. I eat when i wake up, or like within an hour. Sometimes i am hungry at night, but i try to hit that sweet spot where i have something for dinner that will see me thru the night, but not be too heavy either.
I dont mind a little hunger at night. For me its a good change from always going to sleep on a full stomach after barely eating all day, or eating snack foods all day. My dad, after my mom made me join weight watchers at like 16, said, "do you two live to eat or eat to live?" Her idea of dieting was restriction and i swear its taken me 50 plus years to undo the damage that caused. As for the time change, i love fall back - its spring forward that messes me up for a month! |

I don’t mind “fall back” but hate time change in the spring. Gaining an hour is nice. Losing it not so much.

I need to do intermittent fasting, but my T cautions me because she doesn't want me to gain an eating disorder. I've had bouts of eating issues when I was younger, most likely restricting, but occasionally non-disordered vomiting from anxiety (not because of thinness). Food used to bother me, as did my body after experiencing sexual abuse. But I didn't have consistency with those issues for it to be a disorder, so I never got diagnosed. I was able to eat different types of meals at different times.
It wasn't until I gave birth and then subsequently placed my daughter for adoption that I've had nothing but weight problems. Some of my mom's side of the family have weight issues, and only a few of the women from my dad's side of the family have weight issues. Most are thin or in the normal range, even well into their old age. I'm now 47 years old and struggling with obesity. Between 30 and 40, I struggled with being overweight. It's a huge, drastic difference between then and now. I once lost 70 pounds, but that was in my 30s. I kept it off for almost a decade, until I started having issues with one of the three medical conditions I won't name, a thyroid nodule (only 3mm), added stress from college, added stress from relationships, increased retraumatization, increased dissociation, increased PTSD symptoms, increased insomnia, smoking cigarettes, and dealing with worsened chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis. My life went downhill ever since I turned 40. It's only gotten worse. This pandemic worsened that. I'm hoping to find some healthy lifestyle that works for me, reverses my prediabetes, allows me to lose weight, and allows me to manage my CFS/ME better. I'm doing what I can to manage my mental disorders, but the physical seems to be the hardest. |

I think this is a great thread, Mountaindewed!
Kudos to everyone here who are trying to find healthier lifestyles - myself included! The gaining an hour helps, but I wished they would just keep this time and never spring forward. |

I seem to have gotten things under control and I was able to get up at my usual time and start my eating at my usual 6:30 time. Yesterday I barely ate and I’m not exactly sure why. If it was intentional or not. I don’t know. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

It's not so much DLS but this time of year in general. I always get mixed episodes around end of October/November, like I know winter's coming so my mind/body go into panic-gotta get everything done mode even when I'm all prepped for winter.

Living in the south, it doesn't make much of a difference to me. The days don't get that short. I think they're around 10 hours at the winter solstice. I also hate the cold, so happy to skip winter.
