There used to be a useful flu tracker (before the pandemic), but that was contingent upon symptoms (not positive tests) and people actually reporting their symptoms. I don't think they should ban those apps from being used in safe ways so that people know that there's an uptick in their immediate area - even before tests have been confirmed and then finally recorded at the state level. But then again, people are relying more on the data collected at the state level anyway. I just go by that instead of whatever apps are being used. The apps could also have people logging in false information as well. |
