Well we're in our new apartment! It is absolutely amaxing!!! Although, it now makes some of our stuff look crappy. Also, since we have about 250 more square feet it's not so cramped with everything strewn around in box piles. We got all the big stuff moved in today, there's a few more things back at the old apartment left. It's nice for a change to have a few days to get stuff out before I have to be out for good.

It will be nice to have something to keep me occupied while my fiance is away at academy during the week. I never really got everything unpacked from the last time we moved, but this place is so nice I want to get everything put away. I took Friday off to prepare for the move and am glad I did since I got sick Friday evening and didn't get as much done as I had wanted. The nicest part is that it has an absolutely beautiful view. Compared to our old apartment with a view of the parking lot. Plus a lovely balcony!

There were a few issues when I moved in, the deadbolt wouldn't lock because the hole for it and the plate wasn't lined up correctly, a problem I just discovered on the door to the balcony from our bedroom. Also, the brand new refridgerator didn't work and the hot water smelled horribly! They already fixed the deadbolt issue with my entry door and replaced the fridge. At first I thought the smell was the dryer... because I had done blacks first (cold water) and then when I did the whites (hot water) and that was the first time I used the dryer, but when I was rinsing dishes in hot water I smelled the same smell. My family came to visit us for Christmas and they stayed in a condo that hadn't been occupied for a while and the hot water there smelled terrible. My dad said that sometimes the water in the heater can go bad if it sits for a while and you just need to drain it of all the bad water. They did that and the water didn't smell any more. I remebered that and ran our water until it was out of hot water, BOY did our apartment STINK!!! It took a good hour for us to have hot water again but it was worth it. It smells only slightly now and I suspect that will get better as we use the water.

Sorry I just kept going and going there, but so much has happened and I just wanted to share. Anyone else experience the bad hot water smell? It's like the worst rotten egg smell you can imagine. Anyhow...I will post pictures in a day or two because I'm just so excited about it!

In my new apartment! Glad you are loving the new place!!

That bad hot water smell of rotten eggs could be from a rod that is in the hot water tank that. I think it's called an anode rod?? (sp) When the hot water is not used and water doesn't filter through it can build up that smell in the water for a bit. Also, sometimes the rod doesn't work properly and has to be replaced (if possible) otherwise the tank needs to be replaced. We had that same problem in an area where there was a not of iron in our water....very hard water is rough on those things.

Enjoy your new place! Hope it's comfy and cozy for you In my new apartment!

I am so happy you are in your new place. I think the water smell will keep getting less as you run water through the heater. Can't wait to see the pictures.

I got my desk set up and some more stuff unpacked in our "office". I was stressing out over cleaning so I called to have someone else come and clean it, they were supposed to come today at 9am... well she was sick. Now I'm REALLY pushing it she said she'd be there tomorrow at 11am and I need to be out at 1pm. EEEK!!!! BTW I still cannot locate the USB cord after unpacking 5 boxes.
