Okay...just my 2 cents worth...
DocJohn rocks! PsychCentral is the best support group around! The members here are truly awesome! And, lets not forget all the educational info...the psych blog, news, articles and all the other resources...if you need to know about a psych issue--this is the place to come!

I'm an admin on another on-line support group so I know what goes on behind the scenes in running a support board like this. So I just wanted to say thanks too. I think PC is a great site.

I also want to add my appreciation for DocJohn to this thread.
Aside from the great success of Psych Central, it must be a rather strange, yet wonderful, feeling to have more than 60,000 "crazy" devotees! And I mean this in the most endearing way! Here's to you DocJohn!  (Of course, I won't bring up the subject of this "love-fest" being in the wrong forum again...)

Right forum or not, I too would like to thank Doc John for this site!
Thank you Doc John for all you do, like maintaining the site and maintaining the peace . Hosting a chat that I can't even keep track of, let alone to be expected to answer questions during...... something you do with both knowledge and compassion. Oh yeah, and the newsletter too! Wow, you really do deserve our thanks.... Thank you!!!!!!!!

i took it as fun AS... no worries.. but thought i should explain anyway... thanks for helping show Doc how much he matters... idk if he needed it or not... i think i wouldnt mind hearing that once in a while in his shoes..
the place really is massive, i havent checked it all out either... there's the blog, the Answer forum, the quizzes.. and the list continues... for me, what is best about the site is its professionalism... i can find support all over the web, but this was attractive because Doc is in the biz... and now the membership has grown to include professionals from many areas.. therapy, wholism, nursing, professors.. just to name a few... and there's people like me, blue collar... but these are groups and grouping is like labeling is like naming, etc... we are people first, Doc John, you, and me, and Tomi, and nothemama and blah_x, and everyone i havent named... we need friends, we need community, we belong to each other... |
