I am sitting here watching the weather channel and have noticed that Mentalpollution and Davey Jones (and I am not sure if anyone else here) are in Tennessee or not but I know for sure the areas they are in are under Tornado Watches/Warnings. Please keep them in your thoughts and all those who have gone thru this bad weather this Friday/weekend. I have friends near Nashville and was scared to death that they got hit but found out that they were ok . It was near Gallatin where my one friends brother lives. I just hope he is ok. I have not heard anything from her . I hate this weather! Your all in my thoughts and prayers!

Ta-da!!!

For the second time in a week, East Tennessee was spared any major destruction. The poor folks in Middle and West Tennessee are in serious need of prayers...we have had, I believe, 38 people killed in the state by storms in the past week. (The mountains and valleys tend to protect us here in East Tennessee, though not always).

But thanks for the good thoughts!

I live just a few miles from the Tenn. line in South Central Ky. Gallatin is just 20 miles south of where I live. My father-n-law works in Gallatin and was driving home when it came through. He is alright. He said that it wasn't hardly even raining or storming. It just dropped out of the sky.

If anyone is waiting on word from anyone in that area the power is out. They said that it might take up to a week to get power back to the area. They said so many poles are down that they all have to be replaced. My cell phone is having problems, think it hit some of the cell towers. And I just got my internet back this morning.

For anyone waiting for word from the area, my thoughts are with you.

Hey! Everything here is okay. We had some severe thunderstorms last night, but the really bad storms just missed us, thank God. Certainly sending up prayers for those in Middle and West Tennessee. Glad you are okay too, Davey!

Jenn -

You've been on my mind. I'm glad you're OK. We've had a lot of tornadic activity in Kansas so far this year, and it's getting on my nerves. On the second round we had two tornados within 30 miles of us.

Hugs,

EJ

Thank Goodnes your all ok!!!!!! We had a tornado about 25 miles NW from us yesterday afternoon here in NW Ohio too that I just heard about. Another one last weekend about 20 miles SW of us. These things are getting too darn close for me! 2 yrs ago there was an F4 that went thru the town 20 miles from us that I go to therapy at. Such distruction its unimaginable! The one good thing that comes out of it though I think is that the communities come together and work together to help everyone out.

Love you guys so glad you made it thru!

Sorry to hear that B. Hope everyone is ok.

I talked to my country neighbor here a little bit ago while she was at a concert at the Ryman ( LOL man its hard to hear eachother when you got a concert going on lol). She was heading to Nashville during that time. Her brothers trailer is just down the road from the ones that got hit in Gallatin. Luckily he wasnt home, but in Arizona opening for Big and Rich.

I'm in the middle of a tornado watch right now also here in Harrodsburg Kentucky. It's a scarry feeling. Last week, when I was at the Tuesday night bible class, the rain hit & strong winds. On my winding road home, I was dodging fallen branches & trees. Tonight it waited until after I got home before the storm has hit, but it's scarry to think about the possibility of a tornado at this time of year. This just isn't normal.

At least all my doggies are safe in their pens in the basement, so I don't have to worry about getting them to the basement if the warning goes off. I have my NOAA radio on, listening to the warnings on nights like this. I have sky lights in my upstairs bathrooms & the rain pounding down on them is quite a sound especially with the wind blowing.....then seeing the lightning flashing overhead while in the bathroom is another very strange sensation....especially the one time when I was taking a shower & realizing the lighting was flashing overhead.....wow, that was the shortest shower I have ever taken.

Definitely different weather from California. Earthquakes only come once in a while, tornado watches come quite often even if the tornados don't actually form & hit....the possibility is there quite often.

I live 30 miles north of Nashville right over the state line in Ky. I didn't get any sleep last night. Our tornado came through here at 12:30am. I spent an hour in my laundry room with my cats. But we were lucky here, it missed my neighborhood. So far there have been 7 ppl in Ky who died, 4 of them in the next town. The scarest thing that happened was that the tornado in Tenn on the Sumner and Macon county line hit a natural gas line. I could see the glow from my house, my sister-n-law said she could see the flames from her house some 20 miles away from the fire. People where calling the TV stations for help because the couldn't get through on 911, so the TV was relaying where ppl needed help. It was just an all around crazy night.

In the other thread I was wondering who was in the tornado area, so now we know where some of the members are. Lets all keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers and if you're in that area, please keep posting that you're ok. Stay safe everyone!
