I have surgery friday, it's a simple outpatient procedure. Removing a ployp from my rectum.

Possible trigger:

My dr thinks I stopped my blood thinner too soon and still have a blood clot. he wants me on lifetime blood thinners. Due to my history of blood clots. He's probably right, but I hate blood thinners. I have to avoid my favorite veggies.

I want to be healthy in life but I want to die and a blood clot may be my sudden death and my dr is trying to prevent it.

I've been married 3x what am I supposed to go for 4? Marriage sucks for me it's awful. I give up. Basically I enjoy life but my mom is going to die, than what?

Possible trigger:

First my dad's death was hell on me. That's when I cracked. Yes I'd have an inheritance but that doesn't matter to me except when it does.

I'm just stuck in these feelings. I'm eating my feelings today. 4 days til surgery.

When my partner was on the blood thinner warfarin, he was told it wasn't true that he couldn't have spinach, kale etc (vitamin k rich foods). What was important is that if he chose to eat those foods, to make sure he gets around the same amount of vitamin k everyday. The main thing with blood thinners is keeping your vitamin k consistent in your body.

For example, you can't eat a good serving of spinach one day, then not have a vitamin k rich food again for a week or so. That plays havoc with your blood thinner.

So, it does involve educating yourself on the amounts of vitamin k in different foods which people often can't be bothered to do.
Also, a lot of people don't have any desire to have spinach, kale, or brussel sprouts etc every day, so it is just easier to cut them out totally or limit them.

Just wanted to let you know you can eat vitamin k rich foods if you really like them. Just eat some every day, rather than a large serving once a week. A dietitian could help you if necessary.
It is just easier for the doctor to tell you to avoid those foods. And that is fine advice if there is doubt the patient will educate themselves on incorporating a consistent amount of vitamin k in their diet everyday.

You may need more frequent blood tests as you transition to eating vitamin k rich foods as your blood thinner dose will change slightly.

Another option is to ask if a blood thinner like plavix (or generic) would be suitable for you, as there is no interaction with vitamin k.

Well I lived. Still recovering takes 8 weeks to heal she said. scared to poop. Pain, lots of pain meds, surgery felt like 10 seconds was out than up, really 2 hours. It took me forever to wake up and recover.

Mom got mad it took so long and they discharged me before peeing because of her complaint, which they usually don't do. I was super dehydrated.

I think they should have not had it as out patient surgery. I really think it's awful they made my mom responsible for me rather than actual nurses.

Now on Day 2 doing better.

Good news bad news.
I do not have cancer.

I am super constipated. last two days, trying everything for relief. Called dr they said milk of magnesia. Took max dose waiting for affect been pooping tmi hard small ball poops for two days always feel something stuck.

it's not just the stitches cause that's a different feeling. And my underware agrees something is stuck. tried rubbing my back. metamucil, fiber pills, drinks that usually work for me. nothing.

waiting and hoping on milk of magnesia. 30 minutes to 6 hours.

Did they give you any pain meds? I was surprised to find out that they will cause constipation. Best thing you can do is keep trying the laxatives until they work unless it gets worse....then go back to the MD

I find that milk of magnesia takes about 16 hours to work for me. But my digestive system seems to be slow. Good luck.

yeah milk of magnesia worked after about 16 hours for me too. Guess I'll stick with metamucil.

Hospitals everywhere want to get you in and out as fast as possible. I am glad that the polyp is gone and no nasties were found. Yay for pooping.
