From my own personal experience, I got the #@[[ out of the bad marriage situation I was in for way too long. Moved 2100 miles away & started life over again at 54. That was 17 years ago & haven't had mental tllness issues since. My last 13 years in the marriage were in & out of mental hospitals & pdocs & T's having no clue how to help. Struggled with anorexia (most likely from stress & passive suicide thoughts).
These last 17 years, I found a wonderful small town psychologist who helped me process my life & integrate my past with my oresent. I have never been healthier or happier or more peaceful. Never disreguard tge possibility that the situation you are living in is what causes the lack of ability for help to work. Change can be our most valuable help tool. I did not bring my past with me when I left though he still did stupid things I am still trying to legally resolve. But my life is peace & it is always my retreat on my little farm when things start getting crazy or frustrations start to build. All the mental health people thought I was hopeless before I left....i now know I wasn't but the situation I felt forced to live in was the cause of that. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck.
