I've been extremely sick since taking Prozac a yr ago and almost killed me. Since then I can not relax, have no control over the way I feel and horrible sleep pattern. (I've been extremely sick last 45 yrs with dissociation, mood/anxiety disorders, BPII, agitation, OCD, intrusive thoughts: tons of hospitals/Drs/psychologists & ECT & taken every med w/99.9% no relief.) Stopped Prozac 11 mths ago and nothing has changed at all - I am incapacitated all day but feel fine late at night til 3AM. My Dr is GROSSLY negligent and he is the brightest guy I've seen in 35 yrs (I've been to Johns Hopkins 6 times and Sr Drs NEVER gave me any feedback or tried to help) - everyone else I've seen last 40 yrs has been incompetent and all hospitals have abused/ignored me.
Anyway, I bought melatonin 4 days ago and felt fantastic the 1st day: relaxed, not irritable, good energy, stayed busy all day, didn't worry one bit (all I do is worry day/night about the past/future and can't stop). The next day I felt horrible and still feel the same. It doesn't help me sleep. I'm taking 10mg.

I also bought a Cortisol Supplement to relax with two natural ingredients (tree bark, tea) and started that yesterday.
Is there any really good supplement(s) to help relax?
(FYI: I will NEVER go back to any hospital because I can't take the abuse/incompetence and now I have PTSD.)

I'm so sorry you are in that situation. Wish I had something really good suggest.

I found that cutting back on salt helped me a lot since Sodium is a stimulant. I also cut back on caffeine although sometimes I cheat on that.

I take herbal supplements but have permission from my doctor since supplements can be harmful and dangerous, even life threatening to some. I use valerian, melatonin and hops.

I never take supplements without advice from a doctor though since I have heard so many tragic stories and horror stories about taking supplements without medical advice.

I hope you find relief!!!

I agree with Yaowen. I take magnesium bisglycinate. For me it seems to have a calming effect. Helps with pain relief and I am able to sleep better. Magnesium Glycinate: Benefits, Side Effects, Uses, and More

I also take Magnesium for relaxation. Sorry I forgot to mention it before. It does seem to really help.

Do not take mega doses of Melatonin!

The way to take melatonin is 250-300 mcg (not mg but mcg) about 5 hours before you plan to go to bed. There are many 300 mcg tablets from various brands available on Amazon. Try that and be consistent with it for awhile.
