For over a week I've been working practically all day on writing a business plan to go with the business proposal for a govt. grant. Don't feel like I'm getting anywhere!
![]() Meanwhile, the sewing machine sits idle, fabric remains in it's covered containers and finished product sits in plastic bags without the slightest exposure! ![]() The thought keeps running through my head that I need to budget my time better. I think of asking someone for some input then it hits me that if I don't already know how to budget my time, how do I dare hope to know how to run a business?? The wording to a business proposal is tricky. I don't do "tricky"! But I'm a good writer. "I"! "I"! "I"! My "I's" are too close together! This is supposed to be about a business, not *I*! To take my dog out for a walk is enjoyable. She gives me plenty of laughs and happy times. It's just going past neighbors who expect me to stop and chit-chat that annoy the holy heck out of me! If I stop long enough to explain that I need to keep moving to give the dog proper exercise and then get back to work, they look at me as if I've lost all my marbles or like they've just lost their best friend! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So... what do I do next? Continue working on the proposal or drag out the next crafty thing in my "to do" box???? ![]() AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Find your local SCORE chapter and get their help writing the proposal and setting up the business:
http://www.score.org/index.html Your crafty thing is the heart of your business so that's what you should be concentrating on. Decide to only work X number an hours on your proposal and the rest on crafty things.

Tomi, there is no rush on this. Really. Step back and look at it all, and stop rushing.
![]() Grant writing is ALL about the wording. Why not begin time management by writing down what you are actually doing each day, how much time and when. Once you know what you are doing already it will be easier to change it for the best scenario. ![]()

GGGRRRRR! Now I'm really angry! The rep from score that answered my query sent me three website addys for the top three grant consultants. The first one wanted $300 to create my profile, and the last two sent me CDs at $2 each for "training." Neither one had a workable template to create the stinkin' proposal!!
The CD I received today has a directory of "working grants." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm willing to bet the library can help me more and it's FREE!

Tomi,
As for your neighbors....I would creat a sign for your door that says......BUSY....PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB.......VISTORS WILL BE EATEN!!!!!!! with instructions that no one is to answer the door either or Jerry will have the job or escorting them to the Lions Den....lol. I wish you good luck....I only worked on engineering proposals for a small business we were in a group putting....it was definitely a challenge getting the wording just right. It's been many years ago & I don't remember much about it....sorry or I would love to help Debbie
