Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us (and all of us will experience them) we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storms that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm. Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle those burdens.

I am sitting here laughing because I am thinking about all the wierd foods that I have tried. My boyfriend is part of a fishing and game club and last winter I went to their annual "feast." To start with I was the only girl there...out of about 200 people. Second the food consisted of stuff like buffalo (and the head was sitting outside), bear, deer, and tons of other stuff that I did not think anyone should eat. Surprisingly the food was gamey but really good.
However I probably have damned myself by eating all the innocent animals.

LOL I don't worry about "innocent" animals. It's my firm belief that God game them to us when He created them. Granted, we've abused our right to have "dominion" over them but that aside, my common sense tells me I shouldn't eat meat that used to belong to a predator. I've also heard the same thing from other folks that hunt for their food... like my youngest son among others.

It's just our culture, I think, that keeps us from eating certain meats. Look at the people from India. They don't eat cows! That's their culture.

Oh! About another "predator;" rattlesnake! People eat that but you wouldn't catch me eating one, predator or not! We killed several on the farm and a neighbor was there when we did it. I thought he was joking when he skinned one and asked us if we were going to BBQ it. (gag!!!!!!) Not "No!" but "HEEEEELL, no!!!" He took it home, BBQ'd it and ate it! (BARF!!!!) As far as I know, that rattlesnake was innocent. I have no way of condemning it for biting someone and killing them. LOL I don't care if they say it tastes like chicken! It sure didn't smell like chicken when the neighbor skinned it! eeewwwwww NASTY!!

Where is it that they eat dogs? Korea? Shame on them!!!! They're man's best friend! Again, that's just culture.

Howsomever... there are a couple of wild boar up in the canyon where we used to live on the farm. They've been wreaking havoc with crops and chasing down cars and putting some pretty nasty dents on them. If my youngest ever kills one of them, you bet your sweety bippy I'd be in line for some of that meat to make sausage with... predator or not! Wild pigs do eat meat on occasion. LOL Defining words: on occasion. And besides, one of them caused my son's best friend to run off the road and then had the nerve to put several dents on his little sports car! Innocent? I don't think so! LOLOL

Now see what you went and made me do?? I had to go have a rant on ... what was it? LOL Just kiddin' ya!
