So my grandma just got home after a hip replacment and a four week stay in a rehabilation home. In order to encourage more movement in her day to day life my cousin and her husband bought her a nintendo Wii!! I don't rember who but someone told me they even are using the Wii in nursing homes to do the same thing!! Has anyone else heard of this?? I think it is pretty awsome and strange at the same time!!

yeah my sister is a nurse and she told me about this. She actually got one for herself and she said it really is a work out to play it lol

Oh, I got a Wii for my kids this Xmas and It is soooo much fun! You work up quite a sweat. I like to play tennis and boxing is fun too. I like it gets game players off their butts and do something other than sit and stare at the screen.

Hey, it takes a lot of coordination to play the Wii. I can manage bowling and tennis, that's about it. When my daughter graduated last spring, the weather turned very cold and we had planned an outdoor party (of course). Everyone wound up in the house, and they were all playing Wii golf. From my FIL 70 to my youngest nephew 3. Had a grand old time. The animals however did not enjoy this at all, they were not used of arms swinging in all directions.

 It's pretty fun, I am the un-defeated champ at bowling, but I kinda stink at everything else. Boxing and Tennis are the only ones that make me sweat, unless I'm playing bowling against my brother for an hour straight (this has happened before) </font> |

my mother in law works in activities in a nursing home. they have a wii. alot of the people there bowl with it.
