A few questions - how often is he eating, for how long, and does he seem to refuse to eat about the same time every day? Like in the afternoon or early evening? Some babies just tend to get fussy at a certain time each day - think of it as like the end of a really stressful day and you're exhausted - babies get the same way sometimes. He might not be hungry, might just need some comfort or relaxation or maybe just a distraction.

Does he get enough wet and poopy diapers? 6-8 wet diapers a day - that assures you that he's not dehydrated. (no, you don't have to count them...but are you filling up a diaper genie like once a week or so?)

Is he meeting milestones? Growing at a steady rate - not a huge drop-off on the curve?

If you know he's meeting milestones and not dehydrated, then he is getting enough to eat. Try not to let it bug you.....easier said than done, I know...but try.

Ok let me answer all of these one by one.

During the day it varies - between once every half an hour up to every 2 and a half hours. Almost never longer though except for maybe the odd sleep here and there.

Nighttime he is down to two feeds between one am and seven am(approximately - sometimes more.) It seems hes pretty much sleeping through the night now.

Wets are GREAT, Im changing more diapers than that in a 24 hour period to be honest most times.

Poops have slowed down, but Im told thats normal. It seems to be every second day now, but about three or four times that day when he does go.

And yes, its ALWAYS in the evening right before he has his long sleep. I wonder if maybe hes just staying up too long? Its hard to force a six week old onto a schedule though, you know what I mean?

Growing like a WEED. He was gaining about a pound a week previously.. i havent had him weighed in about a week and a half though. Id say hes nearing 11 pounds now if that continued.

Its been much better tonight, for some reason. I was sick yesterday so I am almost wondering if something in my milk let him know I was going to get sick or was sick or something..who knows. I hope it stays like it is lol.

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu all.

Aw Rainbowzz ... Need Hugs and Help Countering Negative Thought

This has got to be frustrating (and thanks for the heads-up about what *I* should expect). How about pumping during the times when he refuses to eat, and then freeze the milk? That way, you won't have to worry about your supply being impacted, and then you'll have some extra milk on hand for when you're ready to wean him from breastfeeding. Or, if you don't use it, you can donate it to your local milk bank - there are tons of women who would really appreciate it!

I would/will feel just as conflicted as you, so I understand.

Ok then he is definitely getting enough to eat and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with your milk!!!

So...yeah...you just need a few hugs to remind yourself that you're a good mom and all that!!

Good luck. It gets easier....eventually Need Hugs and Help Countering Negative Thought
