Anyone else out there using one? I'd love to swap notes/stories/ideas/etc.

For those of you who don't have one working for you, here's a silly story to give you a giggle:

Very early one morning "Rags" and I were practicing working around "barrier-free" design in a local shopping center. She preforms a variety of jobs for me, while wearing her harness, from alerting me to changes in footing to finding the van in parking lots. There was a fellow sitting in his car watching as we worked, then as I settled her into the back of the van for the ride home. My pup weighs in at about 150#; lots of people watch her so I didn't think anything of it. As I backed the van out of the parking space, the man jumped from his car and stared at me with his mouth hanging open in amazement. It wasn't until I was home that I realized he must have thought "Rags" was a guide dog.

LOL I just received an email about a blind lady on a plane, which made a long stop... she flew that route often, and the pilot and crew knew her... she didn't need a break but the dog did. It being a bright day out, the pilot donned his flight sunglasses and took the guide dog for a walk. It said that after seeing this, people were not only changing flights, but airlines! I took a flight once and they handed me the braille guide since I had a service dog... ( a hearing ear guide dog) ... we're educating them one at a time.

I wouldn't call them psycho dogs though. Even if a dog gives emotional support only, that doesn't mean anyone is psycho. "Psyco" Service Dogs!

Disclaimer: The term "psycho" was used only for amusements' sake. I like the word and the silly connotations that accompany it, but avoid the reality of the situation with all reasonable ability.
