My brother is a quadripelgic from a drunk driving accident (read all about him at www.chrisskinner.org). He actually married his physical therapist that rehabbed him after his accident!!! (fairy tale story huh). He has also started a non-profit 501(C)(3) to encourage responsible decision-making and prevent the use of alcohol and drugs among our youth. I guess why I'm telling you this is b/c he is such an inspiration to me that I find it hard to complain about my life after looking at all he has to go through and what he still is accomplishing. Go and read one of his daily journals a www.chrisskinner.org; it will make you feel better; I promise!

I visited your brother's website and talk about an inspiration! drug and alcohol prevention I am glad that he has taken a negative experience and taken a positive approach to reach out to others. Who knows what any one of us would do put in that situation. Hopefully I would choose the path your brother has found.

Wow! That's really neat! Thanks for sharing it.

I'm glad you are able to look to your brother as an inspiration. You can do anything if you set your mind to it.

I went to your brother's site, and wow - he is amazing. I have a hard time dealing with my various illnesses (some are chronic), and if there's a secret on how to maintain a positive outlook, every single day, year after year - I'd like to know what it is. That said - I whine sometimes, ok, I whine a lot. I do have a couple of reasons though - not only do I not feel good physically (never mind mentally/emotionally) but when I cough, people tend to move away from me or give me this 'look', and I don't get to defend myself. Instead, I feel bad for being sick and I can't blame them for thinking I have something contagious, when I don't. See, I just whined. drug and alcohol prevention Does your brother get these 'looks' - though perhaps, for a different reason?

BTW - a cousin of mine got hit by a drunk driver once. Ironically, he (my cousin) committed suicide not long afterwards. drug and alcohol prevention
