I had stopped taking my meds in October because the prescription coverage capped, and I would have to pay 100% of all my meds (over $1800). I dropped Medicare Part B in October and my husbands group coverage picked up in December.

Unfortunately, with their coverage you have to pay for all scripts up front and then mail away for reimbursement. I went to see a P doc Friday (had saw him several times before). I explained I had been off my meds for quite a while and why. I've been in some very deep dark places that my family doesn't even know about.

He gave me scripts for Lithium, Depakote, Zyprexa and Klonopin. I had them filled immediately, and some were covered under my old plan, I only have to pay a bit over $400.

I asked "him" how he thought I was doing since taking my meds religiously Friday. His answer was I'm acting like a stoner. I was floored. What the heck is a stoner? He said I am walking around like a zombie. I continue to keep up with housework, chores, kids homework, and personal hygience. Am I missing something?

Maybe I am more social, I dunno know!

I know that one of the meds I'm on, not any of yours has emotional flatness as a side effect - no lows but no real highs either. As a result I present as very reserved and somewhat withdrawn when I'm not really.

Could it be that you're experiencing something similar, and just aren't aware of it?

I've always had a flat affect, nothing out of the ordinary for me. I actually thought I was more social and outgoing these past few days.

It sounds like he's dating himself; is he older than you are? That's what marijuana users use to be called.

Maybe there were more crises before and you were upset and now there's not much going on? Maybe he's a stoner Stoner

Nope...they're still called that.

On topic....my mom had a very flat affect...it was really hard for me to deal with because she never smiled or anything...broke my heart to see it.

Thanks everyone, my T explained last night that a stoner technically smokes alot of marijuana...I don't smoke that all. Steve also said I'm walking around like a zombie.

How can a zombie dust, clean, do laundry, make beds, clean bathroom, help kids with homework, make dinner, etc............

Sorry, just ranting!
