I wasn't watching, but I was talking with a new friend I met in our womans horse group here in Kentucky this morning.....she is going to be 90 years old in a couple of months....an amazing woman from England who has owned her farm here in Kentucky for years & years alone....never married. She was telling me this morning that she was going for Big Brown.......wow!!!!! How amazing.....I will have to find out where the the filly she picked for 2nd came in.

WaHOOOO Big Brown. I am not a fan of horse racing basically for the reason of what happened at the Derby. I think it's sad how we push the race horses at the really young ages. If you look at how fragile their legs really are & all that body weight running at the speeds they are being pushed to.....I am surprised there aren't more injuries like at the Kentucky Derby. I know that horses run & jump & do all that when they were wild in nature, but I am not sure they ever really pushed themselves the way we push them.

Horses are such gorgeous creatures & they have personalities that are so awsome towards their owners......they are like giant puppy dogs.....it just really hurts when animals loose their lives because we humans have to make them do something beyond their safe capabilities.

I know.......I am very sensitive to this sort of thing & very very opinionated when it comes to senseless animal injuries. I love to see the beauty.
