I guess we can't say it enough, bebop. Unfortunately, young people dismiss what seasoned adults say when it comes to being safe. We can only hope that when they get that small doubt, that they also think: when in doubt, don't!

I didn't watch. I used to think about joining a child recovery team, especially since I do/did so well with "knowing" where missing planes were and whether the occupants were still alive. I can't watch/read about things I can't do anything about anymore.

It's a whole different world out there now with the Internet. I exchanged a couple of emails with a fella I met thru a website I had joined to ask about llife in Alaska. Not a singles' website at all, but he is in Texas, inviting me from the first of only three emails to come to visit him in TX! LOL...I guess there are gullible women who would do such a thing, but I'm not one of them!, and I ceased writing to him.

I always get a little bit frustrated when I hear these stories. I dunno, but to me it just seems like common sense that there is the distinct possibility that people online may not be who they appear, and because of that you should never make arrangement to people that you've met online well, offline. But, there is this one kid in the same grade as me, he's met up with several people that he met online, I just gotta shake my head 'cause he's really playing with fire.

I don't think there is anything wrong with talking to people you don't know online (my parents hate the the thought though) just as long as you don't get too close. Keep the two lives seperated. (and if anything sexual comes up then run like hell lol)

PS, I'm a girl who will be turning 17 in 10 days.
Geez, I feel old 20/20

oh I agree with that but let's face it, not everyone has good common sense. there are many young ladies that have low self esteem or need someone to say the right things and pervs sure know how to do that to hook them in. it is sad. I wish more parents would learn to keep computers out of the kids bedrooms and in a common area of the house so they can monitor what is going on. better to be safe than sorry.
